Aberdeen
the name of a city in Oregon, I like it because it is unusual and can be shortened to Abby which I think is a cute nickname
The original Aberdeen is in Scotland (birthplace of Annie Lennox!). Also, you're probably thinking of the one in Washington state (there is no Aberdeen in Oregon as far as I know). Aberdeen is the English form of the Scottish Gaelic Obar Dheathain, from aber meaning "mouth, meeting of two rivers" and possibly "Dee" or "Don", one of the names of the rivers that meet in that place.
