Aera-Marhee
(A YEH ra-MA hee) It is a Native American name that loosely translates into "One who walks with spirits". It is special to me because it helps connect me with my cultural background and also because it flows so beautifully when it is pronounced correctly.
I can't speak for the validity of this name, but a word of warning: be wary of any name in a baby name book that claims to be "American Indian," "Native American" or the like... if a book can't cite a specific language that a name is from, it probably isn't accurate. The 1990s especially saw a lot of odd names added to name books claiming to have Native American origins. Unfortunately, most of these are pure inventions!
