Alba

• Gorgeous, unusual and utterly strong. I especially love due to the character in Room in Rome
• My friend described this as a sweet "Southern Belle" name, and I agree. I think it's pretty and unique, without being too "out there".

Alba is the feminine form of Albus, a name which means "white" in Latin. It was sometimes used as a girls' name in honor of Scotland, as Alba is the Scottish Gaelic word for Scotland. Alba recently was brought to public attention as the name of the daughter in the novel The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger (and the movie version of the book).
