• the star wars name has me hooked! it combines intrige with sensitivity for me and my friend is caled andrew so it would be fitting to name a little boy after him.
• Aside from the nickname Annie, I think this is one of the best Star Wars names yet, and if you read the books, you know it's not just tied to the evil Darth Vader, it's also the name of Han and Leia's youngest son.
• Anakin Grey: this will be the name of my next son, if I have one. It blends well with my other children's names and it is totally unusual. I imagine a fair skinned, blue eyed boy having this name.
• Anakin Carter: Anakin--Star Wars--!!!

For the name Anakin, a character in the Star Wars films, George Lucas apparently was inspired by the Nephilim, a race of giants in the book of Genesis. The Nephilim are the sons of Anak, and also known as the Anakim. As a first name, Anakin first appeared in the U.S. top 7000 in 1995, peaking in popularity in 2005 with the release of the third prequel movie in the series Revenge of the Sith.
