Andrea

Andrea is a feminine form of Andrew. Andrew comes from the Greek root andros, meaning "man," and by extension, "warrior." Many books list Andrea as meaning "womanly", however, tacking an "a" onto it and making it feminine does not change the meaning to mean "womanly." It simply makes a feminine name out of a masculine name. It would be like naming a girl "man-ette".
