Ariana

Ariana is a German form of the Greek name Ariadne. Sometimes it is considered a modern Welsh name, the word arian ("silver" as in the names Arianrhod and Arianwen), plus the latinate -a tacked on the end. This name was used sparingly in the USA in the late 1950s-1970s, when it rocketed to popularity in the 1990s and 2000s. In 2012, it was at #21 in the Top 7000, bolstered by the fat that it is also the name with the most number of spellings that year: 67.
