Artemis

• Artemis is the name of the greek goddess of hunting. I do not see this name often and it is one of my favorites
• I think this name is so pretty. I'm a sucker for Greek names.
• Great Greek goddess name, one of the big 3 (Athena, Aphrodite, Artemis). Could be a little scary, though, naming your daughter after a goddess who murdered a man for accidentally stumbling upon her bathing. (If you're into the gruesome, she turned the man, a hunter, into an animal, and his own dogs hunted him down and tore him to pieces.)
• Greek goddess of hunting and a sort of a pure free spirit, I want that for either of my girls
• I am a Greek Mythology fanatic, and she has the coolest name for a goddess.

Artemis was a moon goddess in ancient Greece. She was the twin sister of the god Apollo, and goddess of hunting and wild animals as well.
