Ashika
(A-shee-ka) Ashika is my my favorite name because it sounds exotic, and it sounds mysterious and intelligent. It is also my name and it fits my personality - unpredictable, sensitive and intuitive. I think it also means "most beloved daughter". It is a Malay name.
I have found the meaning "sharp; piercing" in Sanskrit for the name Ashika. A couple of baby name sites list it as a variant of Ashoka, meaning "without sorrow or sadness." Another site said it is Hindi for "limitless." I trust the "sharp; piercing" most-- it is from the source I trust the most. I did find a reference to a sunken ferryboat named Princess Ashika that was named after the daughter of a Fijian shipping company operator.
