Ashitaka
This is a Japanese name, but I don't know what it means. I got it from the anime film "Princess Mononoke". "Princess Mononoke" is my S.O.'s favourite movie, so we rented it one night and it soon became one of my favourites too. Ashitaka is the hero of the story. He is a very wise and noble young prince who risks himself many times to help and protect his people, nature, and other people who he meets throughout the movie. If I had a son, I would hope that he would grow up to be something like Ashitaka. I also like the sound of this name, and the fact that it isn't extremely common around here.
