Asphodel

As a flower name, it really doesn't get enough love.

Asphodel is a genus of flowers found throughout Europe. It is also the common name of flowers found in England and on the Eastern coast of the USA. In Greek Mythology, the Asphodel Meadows are a zone in the Underworld where regular folks go when they die. The fields are said to be covered in Asphodels. The name of the flower Daffodil most likely comes from a Dutch form of the word "asphodel," though Daffodils are unrelated.
