Beck comes from an English surname, denoting one who lived by a stream. I'm assuming the person who submitted this name is talking about Beck (Hansen) and Jeff Beck (?). A side note: Beck's first name was originally spelled Bek. He changed it to the Beck spelling later in life. The name "Bek" is a surname in Polish, derived from a nickname used to denote a stupid person, or one with a bleating voice. That's probably not why his parents gave him the name; I just can't resist showing off my (mostly) useless knowledge of names!
