Beckett
- I've seen this name talked about a lot, but I haven't seen it used at all. It's a sophisticated sounding name that originated as a surname. It would fit in well with the Aidens and Masons and Ethans that will be running around on the playground with him, but it doesn't get lost in a sea of other Becketts because it's too uncommon and unique for that. It's a solid choice, I think.
- I really want to honor my favorite college professor, Prof. Beckman, by naming a child after him. Beckman is nice, but I thought of an alternative... Beckett, which is great, and it doesn't have the word, "man" in it. Plus, Beck is a great nickname.
- Beckett Jackson: Beckett is a longer form of Beck, unusual, someone with creativity. Jackson is more... Old South? Sounds very charismatic to me.
The most famous bearer of this name is probably the Irish writer Samuel Beckett. The name itself is of obscure origin; probably coming from a Norman place name.
