Belladonna

Belladonna means "beautiful lady" in Italian. It was given to the plant Atropos belladonna (commonly known as deadly nightshade) because of its use in cosmetics for women. Ancient Romans used eyedrops to dilate their pupils making them appear more seductive.

Deadly nightshade is also extremely poisonous to humans and animals. As a name, it's been used sporadically in the USA, first appearing in 2001. There were 25 girls named Belladonna in 2012.
