Beryl


Beryl is the name of a mineral regarded as a semi-precious stone. It came into use as a first name in the Victorian era, along with a host of other gemstone names (Pearl, Amber, Ruby). Beryl is found in all different colors, the most popular probably being the emerald (it's the green variety of beryl).
