Cáitlín

NOT pronounced Kate-lynn. It's my younger sister's name and we pronounce it Kawtch-leen, along with everyone else in Ireland. I think it sounds nice, sophisticated but still not too grown-up for a kid.

In Ireland, Cáitlín is pronounced something like /KOYT hleen/ or /KAWT sleen/. It is an Irish form of Catherine, and is often anglicized Kathleen. It is from a mispronunciation of this name that we get the popular name Caitlin pronounced KATE-lin and all its variants (Katelyn, Kaitlyn, Catelynn etc.)
