Calliope

In Greek mythology, Calliope was one of the Nine Muses. She was the muse of epic poetry and eloquence. Her name is derived from the Greek kallos "beauty" and ops "voice." "Calliope" also refers to a steam-powered organ originally popular on riverboats and in circuses. Though not as popular, you can still hear them on carousels sometimes today. As a name, Calliope has never been particularly popular. However, there was a recurring character named Calliope on the American daytime soap opera Days of Our Lives in the 1980s that brought the name to public attention in certain circles.
