CarrieMy name. My parents came up with it, while it's a common name, their names are ConnIE and gARRy, so it especially means a lot to me. I only like the traditional spelling though. Kerry, Kari, Cari, Carie, Carey, Cary, etc. don't seem nearly as pretty to me.
Carrie started out as a diminutive form of Caroline. It is used more often on its own now, though. Since the mid 20th-century is has been found in many other spellings (Cari, Karrie, Keri etc.). Though many of these homophones have separate origins, they are used as alternate spellings of Carrie.
