Celesia is an Italian surname. It either denotes someone who came from Celesia near Genoa in Italy, or else it comes from the medieval name Celesia, an Itlian form of the Latin name Celis. It may also come from cella meaning "cell" referring to either a place that had a hermit's cell, or a keeper of a storehouse.
