Corbin
- (or Corban) I'm a fan of the movie Filth Element and as soon as I heard this name I immediately liked it. I'm not real sure why, it just had a ring to it and I loved the tone when the name is said. It is a good stable name.
- "COR-bin" I love the movie The Fifth Element and Bruce Willis' character was named Korbin Dallas. Since then I've loved the name Korbin, or Corbin, and if I ever have a boy that will be one of his names. In Latin it means "raven", possibly from the Roman cognomen Corvinus, which was derived from Latin corvus "raven".
- When we were returning to Florida from a trip to Ohio, we drove through a portion of Kenntucky. I saw a sign for a town named Corbin and thought it sounded like a nice name.
- Well I don't know exactly what category this name falls under but I didn't see it on your site. I really like the name Corbin unfortunately my husband hates it oh well maybe someone will like it and use it.
Corbyn is a modern re-spelling of Corbin, which comes from a French surname. The name can have two origins, either denoting a person from Corbon in France, or from corbeau meaning "crow;" a nickname for someone with black hair. As a first name it was fairly rare until the 1980s, where its general use was probably inspired by the actor Corbin Bernsen (1954-) and then later by the character played by Bruce Willis in the 1997 science fiction film The Fifth Element.
