Cotton

Different; makes me think of a strong but smart country boy.

Cotton is an English surname that derives from a place name made from the Old English element cotum meaning "cottage." Its most famous bearer, Cotton Mather (1663-1728), was a Puritan minister most well known for his involvement in the Salem Witch Trials. He was named for John Cotton, his maternal grandfather.
