Devin

In common usage, Devin is actually a form of Devon, an English place name which gets its name from the Dumnonii, a Celtic tribe. Devin is also an Irish surname, usually stemming from the Irish Gaelic name Damhán, meaning "fawn." Though a few baby name books list it as such, Devin is actually unrelated to the word meaning "poet." Devin's popularity as a name may come from the fact that it resembles names like Evan and Kevin.
