Dexter

• An ex of mine was named this. He was the real nerdy-type, like the the red-headed boy from Dexter's Laboratory, but he was also very sweet and handsome, so I've thought of the name 'Dexter' to be of a sexy nerd name ever since.
• This name is not very common, and its so AWESOME. I love names with the letter 'x' in them.

This was originally a surname, denoting a female dyer. (i.e., a female baker is a baxter etc.) However, its popularity probably is due to the fact that it is identical to the Latin word dexter, meaning "right-handed" and thus "favorable."
