Djuna

(JOO-nuh): I have searched and searched, but I have no idea what, if anything, this name means. Probably the weird literary parents of the famous 1920s female journalist, poet, novelist and illustrator made it up. In any case, I'm stealing it from her because I love it. Read "Nightwood."

Djuna Barnes was an American avant garde poet and author who was born in 1892. She was integral to the modernest scene in Greenwich Village in the 19-teens and in Paris in the 1920s.
