Edith

Edith Kathryn: Edith is my mom's name and Kathryn is my mother-in-law's name. I never really liked Edith until I put it with Kathryn, and I would shorten to Edy Kate. Edith and Kathryn are such old names, but you can make them hip by shortening them.

Edith is a form of the Old English name Eadgyth, which is formed from the Germanic elements ead meaning "wealthy; rich; blessed" and gyth meaning "war".
