Elanor
- my second daughter's middle name. a golden flower from "Lord of the Rings." I think it's especially nice because it sounds traditional but has another layer
- comes from the Lord of the Rings books. In the books, the "elanor" is the most beautiful kind of flower in Loth'lorien (or however it is spelled, its been awhile since I read it!) which is the most beautiful elven forest paradise. I like that it is the phonetic spelling of the name, there shouldn't be any mispronounciations of it. One of the most perfect things about this name is that I told my best friend from highschool, Nellie, that I would name my future daughter after her and Eleanor shortens to Nellie as well as many other simple, feminine, and even hip names. (Ella, Ellie, Lora, Nora, Elle, Lenore, Ellen, Nell, etc.) Plus, Eleanor Roosevelt was totally a great woman and Eleanor is a name in my family as well.
