Elijah
- Elijah sounds masculine and strong while still being caring and sensitive. I don't really like the nn Eli.
- it has a neat sound and spelling, and it's the name of a courageous little boy I know who is carrying on a battle with leukemia.
- Elijah has been one of my top three baby names since I was about nine years old. I think it's gorgeous and the most perfect boy's name that works on any male, regardless or age or race. I've also only known one little boy named Elijah Aaron and that was six years ago! He was a very intelligent, sweet, and fun little kid, so I hope my Elijah will be like that, too!
- I love the sound of the name, and he was also one of the great prophets
- I love this name because it's so harmonious; I also like it for the personal reason that my high school choir won at my first choir competition with the song "Elijah Rock".
- Elijah Addison: This is our oldest son's name. Elijah because it means "the Lord is my God," and we wanted something that would speak of our faith. Also because the name Elijah brings to mind a prophet calling down fire from Heaven-- and our son's a spit-fire! Addison because it means "son of Adam," and my husband's name is Adam. We didn't want a junior, but wanted to include Adam's name in our son's somehow. Addison worked for us.
- Elijah Blue: I think this is the exact name of Cher's son, but there's other reasons I like it. If you think of Elijah Wood's eyes, they are this amazing blue, and Blue is such a different and uncommon name, its a color!
- Elijah Drake: I think that this name is bold yet calm, holds a sense of mysterious dignity.
- Elijah Kristofer: I love the meanings of the name and I prefer K spelling of Christopher because I have a niece named Kristina.
Elijah is an English form of the Biblical Hebrew name Eliyyahu, which means "my god is Yahweh." In the Old Testament, Elijah was a major prophet.
