Eloise

Eloise is an English form of the French name Éloise or Heloïse, which is of unknown origin. It may derive from Helewidis, a name derived from the Germanic elements heil "healthy" and wid meaning "wide." It may also derive from Helios, the Greek sun god. Eloise's popularity probably stems, at least in part, from the tragic story of Eloise and Abelard, a pair of medieval doomed lovers.
