Forrest

• My son is named FORREST.  Everybody loves it (or they do not have the guts to tell us otherwise).  We named him Forrest because the name made us giggle every time we heard it. 
• My great Uncle was named Forrest and he really embodied the warm intelligence of this name. I wish the movie Forest Gump had never been made. But I think this name is so handsome that it rises above that silly movie and stands on it's own. Forrest Caine: my boyfriend has loved this name since the movie camp out (Forrest Gump), he wanted our last son to be named this, I hated it at the time but it has grown on me in 5 years so, our son will be named this, Caine just seems to sound right with it, no other reason.

Forrest is an English surname originally used to denote someone who lived near a forest. In the USA people think of the loveable character of Forrest Gump from the 1994 movie starring Tom Hanks based on a novel of the same name by Winston Groom. This character was named for US Civil War Confederate general Nathan Bedford Forrest.
