Harlan

i think this name sounds like a deep cowboy somehow. Like he's contemplating life on horseback in the mountains somewhere. Probably darn attractive too

Harlan (also Harland) comes from an English surname which is derived from the Old English roots hara meaning "hare" and land meaning "land; ground." As a first name it is currently popular probably among parents who are looking for a long form of a name from which to get the nickname Harley. As of 2010 it was at #805 for boys in the US top 7000. Harlyn, a similar name (found as an alternate spelling) was #1841 for girls.
