Jeremiah
- A good, solid Biblical name that hasn’t been worked to death. If the child doesn’t like the name, he can use a slew of nicknames: Jem, Jerry, etc.
- a nice Biblical name that can be used as an alternative to Jason or Jared
- I like all the Jer' names - Jeremy, Jerome, Jebediah etc, because they can be shortened to Jem, which I love because of "To Kill a Mockingbird". I also like Atticus, Harper and Scout as names (not sure about Boo, though).
- Every Jeremiah I've met has been very good looking and had a very nice personality. Plus it is versatile, if the child doesn't like it he can always go by Jerry or Jeremy.
- Jeremiah Ezekiel - Jeremiah has been my favorite boys name for the longest time - it's long and hardly ever used and I would never shorten it to anything! Ezekiel follows Jeremiah in the Old Testament and they just seem to fit together.
Jeremiah comes from the Hebrew Yirmiyahu meaning "God has uplifted." Jeremiah was one of the major prophets of the Old Testament.
