- A lot of people associate this name with a stripper (thanks to the media), but I personally feel it's a really strong name name, that has just gotten a bad rep. It's simple and just flows. We need more "good" Jill's out there and maybe someday this name will be more popular!
- My name. I guess it's okay. I like the fact that people can spell it, say it, and remember it. I am the only Jill in a school of 1500.
Jill started out being a short form of Gillian, a medieval English feminine form of Julian. At one point Jill was so common it was used as a generic term for a woman, as in "every Jack had his Jill."
