Judson

This name is another form of the Hebrew name, Judah, which means "praise."  Judson has a different but cool sound to me, can call him Judd if you like (which my husband thinks is just too tacky, but I really like), and Judson sounds great as a grown man's name.  Brings to mind the great missionary Adoniram Judson.

Judson is an English surname meaning "son of Jordan." The name Jordan was brought back to England by crusaders in honor of the River Jordan in which it is said Jesus was baptized. Judson may also be derived from the name Jude.
