Juniper
Juniper Rae: I am planning on naming my first daughter this. Juniper is the main character and title of my all time favorite book, and Rae was what my fiancee picked to go with it (a spin off his favorite girl's name, Rachel).
Juniper is a type of coniferous tree. As a name it was first used with any regularity in the mid 20th century probably following the trend of using nature names in the 1960s-1970s and also because of its similarity to the popular name Jennifer. Its use may have also been inspired by the 1968 song by Donovan called "Jennifer Juniper."
