Kali is derived from the Sanskrit word kala which means "black; death; the time [of death]". In Hinduism, Kali is the goddess of change and time. She wears a garland of human skulls around her neck and is often associated with violence and death. In modern American usage it is often used as an alternate spelling of Callie or Kaylee.
