Kaylin is a modern name created based on names like Katelyn and Kayla. In some cases it may represent a phonetic English pronunciation of the Irish cailín which is the vobulary word for "girl" (see Colleen). Some may see it as a form of the Irish name Caoilfhionn, but this is probably more after-the-fact matching than an actual origin.
