Kelvin
Kelvin comes from the name of a Scottish river whose meaning is obscure. It may mean "narrow water." Its most famous bearer was probably Irish born William Thomson, 1st Lord Kelvin (1824–1907) who developed the Kelvin scale of temperature measurement.
