Kennedy

Kennedy comes from an Irish surname Ó Cinnéidigh, which comes from a personal name derived from the elements ceann meaning "head" and éidigh meaning "ugly." It started being popular in the US in the early 90s with the rise of surnames as first names. It was brought to the public eye as a first name for most with the MTV personality Kennedy (real name: Lisa Kennedy Montgomery). It remains popular because of John F. Kennedy, a U.S. president (1961-1963) who is beloved by many.
