Kiana

• Where did I get this one? I have just used it and it sounds nice as a middle name with Alexa as the first name.
• Kiana makes me think tropical paradise, refreshing, gives a burst of energy when you say/hear it. But the name is also subtle in a way.
• (key-ah-na) I love this name because it sounds elegant and graceful, and even more because I have not heard of anyone with this name. It was love at first site! It can also be spelt Qiana or Quiana and comes from the name of the material.

Kiana became popular in the USA in the 1990s a long with a host of other similar-sounding names, like Kiera/Sierra/Kiarra/Ciarra etc. It may be a form of Qiana, the name of a synthetic fabric that was popular in the 1970s. There is also a small Inupiat settlement (population 388 in 2000) in NW Alaska called Kiana, though its probably not the source of the name.
