Kiri

Kiri Snow: That is the name of my first daughter. I like the sweet sound of Kiri followed by the calm, cool, deep sound of Snow. The sound of a youthful divinity. In hearing her name, a vision: a single, violet Spring flower centered fearlessly atop a snow blanketed hill in the meadow. Life will be putty in the palm of her hands.

In Maori, Kiri means "skin of a tree or fruit." Its most famous bearer is the New Zealand opera singer Kiri te Kanawa, who was born Claire Mary Teresa Rawstron in 1944.
