Lachlan
- (LOCK-lan) - A wonderful Scottish name meaning "from the land of lakes." This name always brings Scotland to my mind's eye -- a grey, misty day with mountains on the horizon and a still lake with a rocky shore in the foreground.
- Sounding Scottish, strong, and ruggedly romantic. It's charm is in it's historic familiarity, but not too familiar that we know it's origin nor it's story related to it. (or at least to us average people.)
- Lachlan James:I love the foreign sound it has to it...very unusual.
Lochlan is an anglicization of Lochlann, Scottish surname, which originally was a nickname for someone from Norway (Norway was known as 'land of the lochs.')
