• We all know it sounds pretty. We all know it's a famous Eric Clapton song. Why aren't more people using this one?

• Layla is a wonderful name especially because of the song.
• it has two meanings, one being "dark as night" in Arabic and the other "faerie of the forests" in Norwegian. What a beautiful, mystical combination! Plus, the 70's song was great.
• Classy, yet unusual. Not to mention MY name

Layla means "night" in Arabic. It was the name of a romantic character in poems that were popular in 7th century Persia & Arabia. The spelling Leila was how it was introduced to English, as that was the spelling Lord Byron used for characters in two books.
