Lucifer

Lucifer means "bringer of light" in Latin, and was the Roman astrological name for the morning star (Venus).

In a 5th century translation of the Bible into Latin, "lucifer" became the word used to translate a Hebrew word meaning "morning star."

In the book of Isaiah, chapter 14, Isaiah describes a prophesy about a Babylonian king, one of whose honorific titles was 'heilel ben-shachar' or "Helel [a Babylonian god whose name means 'bright one'], son of Shachar [the father of Helel, another god, whose name means 'morning star.']. in the 5th century edition, as well as the modern King James version, that title is translated as "lucifer, son of the morning." Because of this, the name has been associated with a fallen angel named Lucifer since the middle ages.
