Maia
- Maia Elaine: I have a baby cousin named Maia Elaine, and she is a very strong, healthy looking baby. The name sounds cute, bold, honest, and nice. Maia Elaine is also a name that is good for any age, and it lets you know that she is a very strong girl.
- Maia Isobel: I love the origin, the Roman Goddess of Spring and Isobel just seems to flow with Maia.
- Maia Rose: I love Maia because of it's Latin meaning, "great' and it's Hindi meaning, "God's creative power." I like the traditional spelling of Maya, but am afraid of people mistaking it for "May-a.' The middle name was hard to settle on since nothing seemed to flow with Maia. But Rose is simple and pretty, and it fits well.
- Maia, Maya, Maeia, Mayia: These are 4 variations of one very sentimental name: May. May has been a name passed down for generations in my family, and when my cousin had a baby girl, we wanted to honor that tradition -- but with a twist. We came up with the four above, and had quite a time picking one! She settled on Maia Natalia, coincidentally enough, the baby was born on Christmas Eve, so Natalia was the perfect edition to this classic yet beautiful name.
Maia was the Roman goddess of spring, from whence we get the name of the month of May. In this form it is derived from the Latin word for "great." In modern English usage, it is seen as an alternate spelling of Maya.
