Maren

• (mare-en) heard this from a little girl in my daughter's daycare. also, from "braveheart" but spelled differently. i think it's beautiful!
• Orgin: Hebrew. Meaning: Rebellious or The Sea. I like this name because it is different. It's also a strong name and I would be proud to have it. It's also beautiful in it's own way.

Maren is a Norwegian form of Mary (see also). In the movie Braveheart, William Wallace's girlfriend is named Murron, which is probably a form of Muireann, meaning "sea-white," or Mùirne meaning "affection."
