Marinn

A Japanese legend tells about a woman named Marinn who was falsely accused of adultery. Her punishment was to walk through the kingdom with her head shaved bare, which in a culture so concerned with honor was a worse agony than any torture. Along her path miracles occured, and instead of horror all who watched her pass were filled with admiration. She was very beautiful and brave, but she did die in the end. The emphasis is on the second half of the name, "mur-INN."
