Meghann

love this spelling, makes it very celtic-looking

The Australian author Colleen McCullough is probably single-handedly responsible for this name. It appeared in her 1977 best selling novel the Thorn Birds. In it, Meghann "Meggie" Cleary was the daughter of Irish immigrants who struggles to make a life for herself in the Australian outback in the early 20th century. Because of this book, tons of people think Meghann is an Irish name, which it is not. See Megan for more info.
