Murray
- I know to many of you Murray sounds old fashioned or like a surname, but those exact things are what are right around the corner of baby naming trends in English speaking countries. Scotland already has Murray in their Top 100 and everyone knows that Britain has all the cool names years before they cross the Atlantic to North America and end up on our popularity charts. To me, Murray conjures up gourmet coffees and classic novels, smart outfits and intelligent conversation. Unless, of course, you're a tennis fan and then to you, Murray probably brings to mind more things like Andy Murray and champion tennis skills.
- while not an overly popular name, it was my grandfathers middle name and has special meaning to me. I also think it seems like a strong name.
Murray was originally a Scottish surname, an anglicization of Mac Mhuirich, denoting a person who came from Moray in Scotland.
