Natalia
- I like the name Natalie and although it is not overly used it is common. I have never met anyone called Natalia, where as I have met two Natalie's. I think Natalia is a great name - suitable for all ages!
- Natalia/Natalea (Nat-uh-lee-uh): I used to watch the short lived Aaron Spelling show "The Heights" and one character sang a song for a girl named Natalie and he was saying "Natalie, oh" and for some reason I thought he said "Natalia" instead. So, that's where this name came from.
Natalia is a Russian name, coming from the Latin natale christi, meaning "birth of Christ." It was originally given to girls born on Christmas, but it is now not limited to just that day. The usual diminutive form is Natasha.
