Nayara

My partner has just given birth to a lovely, beautiful little girl. We decided on the name about 2 months ago...... but...... the strange thing is, I can´t find a meaning for the name we´ve decided to give to our lovely little girl. I  think I once played online (backgammon) with a person by the same name.......... and has been stuck in my head ever since... (but i´m not absolutely sure). Anyway, I am a songwriter/composer/musician......... and posess a natural love for ORIGINAL creations. I love art for the minorities of this world....... whether it be music,or whatever other art form there may be........... If it´s not for the masses, there´s a very good chance I will like it....... (or at least think it interesting and probably be mind provocative). I live in Spain and I speak Spanish extremely well ...(about as good as my English). I was brought up in Australia by Spanish parents and my name is Jesus. My partner´s name is Yolanda. Ok, so what, I hear? To me, the name we have chosen is not only UNIQUE, but also very beautiful and easily read in both SPANISH and ENGLISH. The name is NAYARA. I believe that it could be a subliminal influence of being SO FAR AWAY from home, that the name sounds  very  ABORIGINAL.(Native Australian).  BUT...... it is also a name that can be easily said in SPANISH....... as a matter of fact.......... they are ALMOST identical in pronounciation. I certainly can´t find a meaning......... nor do I hope to find one......... because to me it means......unique, beauty and the prettiest little thing in existance....... (but hey, I am the dad.... hehehe)............... If I have created this name , then it means ............. Unique beauty and not another like it. The name NAYARA is simply  pronounced exactly the way it is spelt......... both in English and Spanish (and i´d say it has the same pronounciation in the Aboriginal (Koori) language as well).

Nayara (or Naiara) is a Basque form of Nájera, the name of a city in Spain. The name of the city comes from the Arabic Naxara meaning "town between the rocks." It is given as a name in honor of an apparition of the Virgin Mary that was seen in a cave near there in the 12th century.
