Nigel

• a 'champion', Nigel is sharp and witty, but also honest and kind.  A "chap", if you will.  He goes with the flow, but keeps a keen eye on all that is going on.  (Good enough for my premature son who has lived up to the 'champion' meaning).
• Nigel is one of my favorite male names.  It is quite uncommon and British. The name "Nigel" suggests great potential and quiet strength for the bearer.  It also reminds me of the many intellectual discussions I had with one of my best friends- Nigel.

Nigel is an English name, which comes from the Latin word nigellus, meaning "Black."
